This small book series is great! I love that it shows what a community can do together, the friendships, the help, the support. It keeps moving because of all the emergency situations the Doctor has and all the relationships that are moving along together. This book is NOT smutty. It is fantastic for a change! How refreshing to be able to read a book and get done only to realize how clean it was and how much I enjoyed that. It is implied in the relationships, but not spelled out, and really, it was so great! I would read these books again and again.Product details

Down the River George W Hooper 9781358237324 Books Reviews
Very entertaining read especially before going to sleep. Not much of a.
book reviewer but love the way she crafts a story and makes the reader feel they really know the characters
This book has a lot of suspense in it. I thought I knew who the killer was, but I was wrong. It keeps you guessing.
Another great book. Robyn Carr is a great author. It's a shame that this is the last book in the series. Made me laugh and made me cry.
I've read the Virgin River series many times and LOVED it but didn't order the Grace Valley books because of some negative reviews. Those reviewers said that the Grace Valley books were not really romances and that there was very little real romance in them. That may be true but these books are so good. I loved all the quirky and lovable characters in Grace Valley and I'm sad that my visit to Grace Valley has come to an end. Robyn Carr makes her characters come alive. She is such a great story teller and I've enjoyed all of her books.
I didn't like the ending; it just stopped!! I wanted more!! I enjoyed the series. But, I got tired of reading about men beating women in all 3 of the books. Why do authors feel they need to write like this!!! That's the reason why I gave it 4 stars!!!
The beginning of the book is ok. It doesn't move along fast as some books do. I'm into the middle of the book and I'm simply bored with the dialogue between the characters, there's too much talking and not enough suspense or action to keep the story moving along. The romance element is rather weak too. It's just an average read. Maybe I will finish reading the book or not.
Down By the River is book 3 in the Grace Valley trilogy by Robin Carr. I didn’t think a third book would keep my attention as well as the first two. I was pleasantly surprised; but the third book is as good as the first.
It is difficult in Grace Valley for anyone to have a secret for long. However, June Hudson has managed to keep her lover, Jim Post, a secret for a while. Now it is going to come out; but how will the town react to June’s being pregnant with no husband? When Jim does return to Grace Valley, will he be pleased with the idea that she is pregnant? Will he propose?
Chris Foster’s boys just keep getting into trouble. How will Chris get them out of it or will he? What will his wife Nancy do when she finds out what they have done?
Many questions come up in Grace Valley. Why didn’t Mrs. Mull go back to the hospital to have her second operation? Will she stay in the mountains while her children stay in Grace Valley? After running of their pastor, the Presbyterian Church gets a new pastor- a single man. What is he hiding? Which female in Grace Valley will get his attention? Who is the new man in Aunt Myrna’s life? How does Thanksgiving go for the town? You get hints that something bad is going to happen; but you aren’t sure what it is. How will the town react?
This small book series is great! I love that it shows what a community can do together, the friendships, the help, the support. It keeps moving because of all the emergency situations the Doctor has and all the relationships that are moving along together. This book is NOT smutty. It is fantastic for a change!
